a day with the dolphins.....

Over 30 children with Tuberculosis were taken on a surprise visit to the Dolphinarium in St.Petersburg.  These children from all over Russia were being treated at one of the specialist children's hospitals in St.Petersburg.   Unfortunately this meant missing their lunch at the hospital, and having to take sandwiches instead. 'Kentucky Dan', an American visiting St.Petersburg, on hearing of this problem bought them all Children's Happy Meals at McDonalds.

During the winter, it was planned to take another group of children from the hospital to the circus, but because of the high risk of them catching influenza , not all were allowed to visit the circus. McDonald's Happy meals were taken to approximately 60 children who have either the A.I.D.s virus or T.B. and had to remain behind.

For most of these children, it is the first time that they have had the opportunity to have a treat.
